The New S.A.T.

The S.A.T. reasoning test has been changed a few years ago, in accordance with attempts to better test students' thinking abilities and provide a better standard for a college entrance exam.

Some basic changes include:
  • New writing section, includes:
    • Multiple choice questions on grammar and usage
    • Student-written essay
  • Critical Reading changes include:
    • Analogies eliminated
    • Short reading passages added to long reading
  • Math section changes include:
    • Expanded content with topics from third-year college preparatory math
    • Quantitative Comparisons eliminated
The Private School of Math has already adapted its curriculum to include the new content needed for the new SAT, and graduated students of the math school have already demonstrated advanced mastery of the new test.
